Review: Weleda Nourishing Hair Oil

Weleda Nourishing Hair Oil

This Revitalising Hair Tonic by Weleda is created for dull or damaged hair in need of some TLC. Formulated with Rosemary Oil and extracts of Stonecrop and Horseradish leaves, it works to improve the supply of nutrients to the hair from the roots, whilst improving natural hair growth and maintaining a healthy scalp.

Look Fantastic

Switching my hair oil to a natural alternative was the thing that took me to longest. I found so many oils but they felt very heavy on my hair. I wanted something affordable but nourishing and lightweight. Basically, exactly the oil I was using before but a clean alternative. However, I was so pleasantly surprised when I found this Weleda one. I can’t say it’s exactly like the conventional one I used to love. But, with a little practise I’ve managed to really get the most out of this oil. And it’s very multi use. Keep reading for the full review.

I’m obsessed with the scents used in natural products. This oil just smells like flowers. The main oil ingredients is Rosemary Leaf Oil but I think she smells comes more from the essential oils used. There is definitely some lavender in there. The texture is that of a lightweight oil. It feels like a dry oil on the skin which I have found to be great for the hair as it is easy to move and distribute and is not too heavy.

As mentioned above, this oil is not heavy. It is easy to move through the hair and little really goes a long way. I use it as both a hair oil mask and on dry hair to smooth out any dryness. For the hair mask I apply the product to my scalp and massage. I then pull it through the hair and add more to the ends as that is where the bulk of my dryness is. I have found that using this oil as a moisture mask on my scalp and roots helps my hair to not get as greasy as quickly.

When using this for styling, I apply a very small amount to my hair and rub through my fingers before pressing the product into the ends of my damp hair. For styling, I blow dry my hair 90% dry and do the same action of pressing the oil into the hair of the sections before blow drying with a brush.

Overall, I really like this oil. It smells nice and light with the floral scent and the smell does stay around. I like how it can be used as a mask and on dry hair and I find it really does nourish the hair. However, please use carefully as too much oil can make the hair greasy as I have made this mistake when testing out the right amounts.

NOTE: this oil doesn’t claim to have any heat protecting ingredients or benefits so please use additional heat protecting when using heat on your hair.
