JĀSÖN Sunscreen SPF 30
“A mineral sunscreen that is chemical and fragrance free providing full UVA and UVB protection, creating a natural barrier to protect skin against sun burn.”
I live in England where the weather isn’t very hot 90% of the year. Usually, I only wear SPF on my face and neck, but since the Summer this year consisted on quite a long heatwave I decided to try out some body sunscreens. The first one is this on by Jason, which now has different packaging incase you can’t find this one in stores. Natural sun creams feel different to regular stuff, and generally take more work to rub in; if you’ve tried naturals, you’ll know what I mean. For the price point, I’d say this is a good option, but for the full review keep reading.
One thing to note about natural sun creams is that they can be white. By white I don’t just mean the colour when it comes out of the bottle; I mean the colour after it’s rubbed in. That old school sun cream white cast can be left over from natural SPFs. This is with the exception of the Coola facial SPF I use, that stuffs amazing so read the review here.
When this product is squeezed out of the bottle into the hands, it’s very white and has a thick texture. It takes some work to rub in as the texture is so thick, and especially on any body hair like arm hair. It also leaves that white cast, that I mentioned above, on the skin at first. After a few seconds, it does sink more into the skin but I avoid using this on my face fr this reason (and the fact it’s so thick.) I like that this product isn’t sticky on the skin and also isn’t oily or slippy. Once it’s soaked in I can’t feel it at all and actually forget I’m wearing it. However, I’ve had times when I haven’t rubbed it in very well on my legs and had outdoor dust stick to my legs which isn’t too nice.
So far from using this product I haven’t been burnt though I’m careful not to spend too much time in the sun. The instructions say to apply 15 minutes before sun exposure, and reapply after 80 minutes. The scent of this product is of a sun cream. It literally smells like a very light sun cream, but isn’t overpowering. I can only smell it when I make a point to, otherwise it’s mostly undetectable.
This is a water resistant, hypoallergenic, reef safe mineral sun cream made from natural ingredients. It’s very affordable, but more expensive than conventional products, and lasts for a while. The packaging is easy to use. The product squeezes easily out of the bottle, and doesn’t leak. Its very easy to take around with you. This stuff is also vegan and cruelty free.
