Lavera Repair & Care Shampoo
“An innovative formula to repair and strengthen the strained structure of damaged and dry hair. It’s mild cleansing ingredients don’t strip the hair of its natural oils.”
I’m on a constant mission to find great natural hair products, particularly shampoo and conditioner, since I’ve used a few not amazing ones. I like them to clean my hair, but not strip it. I also like it to smell nice, but not be overpowering. I have a vague list of expectations, which is fine since natural products are increasingly improving. This one is great, and especially for the price of £6.95 for 250ml of product.
I bought this shampoo because it’s described as a Repair & Care Shampoo made from Organic Rose and Pea Protein. The product packaging is also appealing with its pink colour to match the Rose scent. This product is created for dry and damaged hair also even though my hair isn’t damaged at all, but it does sometimes feel dry. To confirm, this product does have a really nice scent. It doesn’t smell exactly like Rose, but it smells slightly floral with a sour hint. It smells very clean and slightly like baby wipes. The smell doesn’t stick around on the hair after washing though. Compared to other natural shampoos, this has a more appealing scent as it doesn’t smell like Hemp or Aloe Vera.
The texture of this is very thick. It’s a thick shampoo gel like texture that lathers up quickly in the hair when the hair is damp. I also apply this straight to dry hair when I have a coconut oil mask on my hair. It lathers a lot even with a small amount of water, which is great as it really gets out any oil. I find that I don’t need a massive amount of product with this shampoo as it moves easily through the hair due to the lather. The shampoo is described as having a ‘Foamy’ formula, which I would definitely agree with.
On the hair this product is foaming. It isn’t stripping on the hair though like conventional foaming shampoos are. It doesn’t irritate my scalp either, so I find it very nice to use. As far as the results, I would say my hair does feel repaired after use. However, it really depends on the conditioner that it is paired with. If I do a coconut oil mask then my hair feels a lot more smooth than when I use just a conditioner. Usually, my hair is very clean and quite fluffy. My hair can last a week between washes with this product, and there isn’t any residue left on my hair after rinsing out. My hair doesn’t feel fragile before applying conditioner and rinsing the shampoo out, which is great.
The packaging makes the product very easy to dispense. It comes out of the hole easily, and the bottle is easy to squeeze. The lid is also very secure, so it doesn’t leak when travelling. The colour also matches the scent which is such a nice touch I find. However, 250ml isn’t a lot of product, but it does last a few months when you only wash your hair once or twice a week.
The product is also vegan, and the brand is cruelty free.
