Rio Rosa Mosqueta
“From the Amazon, with love
“We believe our rosehip seed oil is the very best available for skin repair and rejuvenation, which is why we travel all the way to South America to source it. We bottle it in its purest form and don’t add any perfumes or additives as we believe it does a fantastic job all by itself!”
I am completely new to this brand! I got sent a few free samples to review, so just a disclaimer that I haven’t been trying full sizes of these products, but I wanted to introduce you to the brand incase you’re wanting to try it out. I have used these products for 3 days, so my review here will be more of a first impressions blog post rather than a long term use review. I cannot say how these products will make my skin look and feel in the long term, but so far I love them because they haven’t broken me out at all. For the full first impressions review, keep on reading.
Rio Rosa Mosqueta is a brand that has taken enriching powers from Rose Mosqueta and turned it into skincare. The ingredients are home grown from and harvested from South America, as the inspiration originally came when the co-founder travelled to Brazil. He found a treasure trove of nature’s finest botanicals which had been used by indigenous peoples to support their health and wellbeing. His mission was to bring the finest herbs back to the western world, and to share their beneficial properties. This brand exclaims the following: No colourings, no additives, no nasties. Just 100% pure natural extracts and ingredients sourced and prepared to an age-old South American tradition. It’s worked for hundreds of years, and it will work for hundreds more. This cream cleanser is exactly what the label suggests: a very creamy cleanser. This product obviously has a cream texture, and is very gentle on the skin. It moves easily even on dry skin and rinses off easily with water. Due to the gentle feeling I would say this product is good for acne prone skin as it won’t strip the skin of all oil, which leads to over production of the skins natural oils. However, I do find that a residue is left on the skin after rinsing. This is something I don’t love about creamy cleansers, but I do follow up with a toner to remove the excess.
I haven’t tried to take make-up off with this cleanser, but I feel like this is more of a morning cleanser. I don’t think it will be strong enough to remove make-up as it is very gentle. I don’t love this product as it doesn’t make my skin feel very clean due to the left over residue that also sticks to my lips when I rinse it off. I prefer not to have a residue left over, but creamy or milky cleanser I’ve used also do this due to the texture. This is a vegan and cruelty free product, and it smells very natural and kind of like a kale green smoothie mixed with aloe vera. It isn’t overpowering and is a pleasant scent to use.

Eye Contour Cream
This eye cream is not the thickest texture of eye cream that I’ve ever tried, but I like it cause it soaks so quickly into the skin and a little goes a very long way. It moves so easily across the skin, and isn’t so thick that it feels heavy and leaves heavy residue on the skin. The texture isn’t sticky or tacky after soaking in, and it doesn’t feel nice to use. However, I do feel like my eyes are a bit irritated by this stuff. The texture is a cream instead of a gel, and it smells like aloe vera. The scent is subtle, natural and not overpowering. This product is very smooth, vegan, and cruelty free.

Face and Decolletage Firming Serum
I actually love this product. It feels so smooth, soft and silky on the skin and moves across it so so easily. It is very easy to use and it soaks into the skin very quickly which is great when applying moisturiser on top of it. The texture is a cream texture that isn’t too thick or heavy, just very silky. The product doesn’t irritate my skin at all, and it smells like aloe vera like the other products mentioned. This product is also vegan and cruelty free. This is my favourite product out of the four of them.
Aqua (Water), Citystem™ (Glycerin, Marrubium Vulgare Extract (White Horehound)), Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosa Mosqueta) Seed Oil*, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose.

Anti-Ageing Day & Night Cream
This is a thick feeling cream that soaks in really quickly. I’m not a huge fan of this product though as it has a very high water content so even though it soaks quickly into the skin, it feels kind of like the product evaporates and my skins doesn’t feel moisturised. I find it kind of irritates and feel cold on the skin. On a positive note, it doesn’t leave a residue so would be good to apply make-up on top of. I would say this moisturiser needs the serum underneath to moisturise the skin properly. Due to the macadamia oil, this product smells like macadamia or almond which is a nice natural scent. Another vegan and cruelty free product.
