Review: Sukin Oil Balancing & Charcoal Pore Refining Facial Scrub

Glamour Magazine tells readers that a goof facial exfoliator is an essential part of any skin care routine. It is essential to clean pores and remove dead skin cells 2-3 times a week. I have a natural exfoliating option for you so to find out more, keep reading.

It feels like a long week when I forget to scrub the crusty dead skin cells off my face. This only really happens when I go many days without coating my skin in the make-up layers, and instead opt for a fresh face. Some people call this “au naturale” but for me it’s mostly just lazy; hence why the congestion gets real. When I wear make-up I always make sure that I remove it all thoroughly, but when there is nothing to remove I just use water and a warm muslin cloth. Keeping it simple is what I like. Exfoliating my skin a few times a week is what I love.

This Sukin facial scrub is the first exfoliating product on the natural side that I have tried. I retired the overly harsh St Ives for this gentle option, and although the scrub texture is lighter it still does a great job. Sometimes I apply it to a cotton round for more abrasion but be careful not to press to harshly as our facial skin in fragile.

This product has a light and subtle ‘barely there’ scent and my skin doesn’t feel stripped after I use it. It is also very affordable and under £10.00 from health food stores. There isn’t much I can say about this product other than it does the job of a scrub as there are many sand like particles that scrub away the dead skin cells; exactly what I look for in an exfoliator. Some micro bead scrubs don’t have enough to do the job. The packaging describes the product as oil balancing because of the charcoal but that isn’t why I bought it. I also haven’t noticed whether oils have been balanced.

If you’ve read any of my other skin care posts you’ll know about the brand Sukin. It’s vegan, cruelty free, and an affordable more natural brand and I would definitely recommend giving this product a try if you’re looking for a scrub.
